It’s not over til it’s over…

After an impressive 7-1 season last year, the Junior Varsity Football team lost twelve players to the Varsity team. 2007 proved to be a year for growth. With 20 of 25 players being freshman that had never played organized football, Loyola’s J.V. team went 1-6.

"It’s not the final destination but the journey which is most important," said Coach Jones. After losing a couple of very close games, the team started to question their ability and dedication. Coach Jones explained to them that there is a lesson learned in victory and defeat. Unsuccessful in their first six games, Loyola was matched against a team that was slated to beat them. Against all odds they came and gave it their all. Losing 6-0 at the half, the coaching staff preached the importance of unity and working together. The Bulldogs came out in the second half and played like never before. Loyola won the game 22-6.

Coach Jones said, "Perseverance is the key to success. Even though we had one win, we played like champions and we feel like champions.
