2009 Season Recap
The track team returned six seniors on this
year’s 35-person squad. Meets start in the early April and
continue until the end of May. Mr. Sherman Flake ’97 and Mrs.
Lawsonja Robinson are the team’s coaches.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association regional championship
is May 22 at Lutheran West and the State Championship is June 5-6
at Jenison High School.
After a slow start last year, the track team finished strong placing
second in the regionals. Two school records were broken during the
season: 4x100 relay, 45.99 (Thomas Hervey ’09, Stefon Johnson
’10, Makal Muhammad ’11 and DeAndre Ulmer ’09) and
the 4x800 relay, 46:49 (Najee A’ve ’11, Brian Browder
’09, Jordan Stafford ’09 and Kumar Tuft ’09). |
