December 19, 1946 - June 19, 2008

Deacon Wyatt L. Jones, Jr., entered into eternal life on June 19, 2008. Deacon Jones played a key role in laying the groundwork for Loyola Academy (as it was called at first) and served as the school’s first Dean of Students. He left Loyola in 1998 to engage in full-time parish work. In 2004 he returned to Loyola to serve as Dean for two years and then as faculty chaplain.

Deacon Jones was known for his dynamic preaching and for his extraordinary ability to reach young people. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, DeBorah (Eastman); four children: Wyatt III and his wife, Tierra; Thomas and his wife, Tiona; James and his wife, Ayeshia; and Marion; and four grandchildren: Travis, Nicholas, Jazzmin, and Christian.

At the family’s request, memorial contributions may be made to Loyola High School. Deacon Jones’s remarkable life will be featured in the next issue of "Landmark."
